The Humans in the Loop: Q4 Round-Up of #LifeAtOcrolus

Happy 2023, everyone, and welcome to the Ocrolus culture blog!

As a fintech company, we dedicate ourselves to improving financial services through intelligent automation solutions. But we are equally as committed to the well-being of our people at Ocrolus and to how, as an organization, we can give back to society.

Our Social Committee is dedicated to all things culture, with representation from teammates across departments. We understand the importance of getting work done, but we also want to ensure everyone enjoys their time at Ocrolus.

Here’s a rundown of some Q4 social highlights.

Giving Back

Dedicating time and effort to good causes is a strong underlying belief among the Ocrolus team. With this in mind, we organized some activities as the year drew to a close.

Food for the hungry

We held a food drive at the New York City office! We brought over 100 lbs of canned food and non-perishable items to support City Harvest. This NYC-based organization supplies food to New Yorkers in need, and we were happy to support their mission.

Toys for children

We also did a holiday toy drive in the office! Ocrolus employees donated over 30 toys to Toys for Tots, a charity that distributes toys to children whose families can’t afford to buy gifts over the festive season.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Not only is it essential at Ocrolus that we are inclusive and diverse but it is also imperative to foster cross-cultural understanding.

American Indian Awareness

November is American Indian Heritage Month. To commemorate this, we took a trip to the Museum of the American Indian! This museum is located right near our NYC office. We had a great time checking out and learning from world-renowned exhibits rich in culture and education.

The Ocrolus DEI book club

Yes, we have a DEI book club! And recently, its book of choice was Untouchable by Mulk Raj Anand. At our book club, we meet and discuss DEI-related literature each month. It’s a beautiful place to discuss DEI-related topics and learn from each other.

Building Culture

Getting creative and spending time together is more fun with gingerbread houses and hot chocolate within reach. So we decided to make our very own of both!

The 2022 Ocrolus holiday party took place on December 15th! Over 80 people attended, and it was SO much fun!

We also had a Secret Snowflake gift exchange! Employees were randomly assigned, and we unwrapped gifts before our holiday party.

Other cultural events

We organized Secret Santa at the office. Everyone who signed up was randomly assigned to a person. On the day, we arranged a bundle of gifts around our Christmas tree. Each person picked up a gift with their name on it, and then the entire office tried to guess who their Secret Santa was. We also had a potluck lunch together.

We also had a New Year 2023 bash on January 20th, where we invited our employees to come together with their partners and spouses. We enjoyed a fantastic lineup of talented stand-up comedians, live music, games, and dances around a bonfire!Join the Ocrolus team! View available roles here and apply.
